Waste to Electricity solution delivered to Västerås, Sweden
Mälarenergi AB is one of the biggest municipal power plants in Sweden, with a total energy production capacity of 1700 MWth divided on 6 power boilers. The plant is a CHP plant which not only supplies electricity but also provides district heating to the city of Västerås.
The TYRANNOSAURUS® Waste to Electricity plant is a turn key waste processing and fuel handling plant directly integrated with the power boiler 6. The TYRANNOSAURUS® plant consists of three waste processing lines, an RDF fuel storage and a dosing and feeding system to the boiler building, including electrification, automation and all necessary auxiliary systems.
This integration of the TYRANNOSAURUS® waste processing and RDF handling plant with the new power boiler was the biggest power plant in the world operating on only RDF fuel at the time of its completion in 2014.
"The waste processing line delivered by BMH Technology Oy has never caused Mälarenergi AB power plant 6 to shut down due to equipment failure or operation or other reason."
