BMH Technology supplies key equipment for Visy Paper’s new fuel preparation plant on Gibson Island in Brisbane, Australia
Press release 31.5.2022
BMH Technology has signed a contract with Visy Paper on Gibson Island in Brisbane, Australia for the delivery of several key equipment to the mill’s new fuel preparation plant.
The mill will use its own rejects as an energy source to reduce landfill. The new fuel preparation plant is required to ensure efficient and sustainable operation of the upgraded Multi-Fuel Boiler (MFB). BMH delivery includes an electrically driven, automatic waste shredding platform with a TYRANNOSAURUS® 7703 Shredder and a TYRANNOSAURUS® Feeder as a buffer storage. The new automatic fuel silo storage will be equipped with a TYRANNOSAURUS® Screw reclaimer, which enables even and homogeneous fuel delivery to the boiler feeding line.
“BMH Technology is a partner that provides extremely capable equipment, service and support. They [the TYRANNOSAURUS® equipment] are top of the food chain, exceptional at what they do, and very hard to kill!”, says Darren Ralston, National Sustainability Projects Manager, Build Run RepairTM of Visy Group.
The fuel handling process refines industrial and commercial waste into environmentally friendly recycled fuel that is utilized in the MFB. The MFB produces steam for the VP8 paper manufacturing process, which uses 100% recycled paper primarily made of used newsprint and carton board.
The equipment has already been delivered and the new fuel preparation plant will be operational later in 2022.
