TYRANNOSAURUS® 6600 Pre-Crusher for waste is a slow-rotating, two-rotor crusher designed for industrial scale crushing of unsorted municipal solid waste (MSW). It's often used as a bag opener at the very beginning of the process.
The purpose of pre-crushing is to prepare the waste for further processing, which is why adding a 6600 pre-crusher in a waste refining process improves the waste separation efficiency.

The main contributors for 6600's high performance are the direct hydraulic drive and optimized crushing geometry.
The 6600 pre-crusher has a large feeding hopper that enables different loading options and crushing of large objects. It reduces the particle size down to 100-300 mm.

Maximized Throughput with Optimized Knife Geometry
Knife geometry is a key factor in generating capacity.
- A large cutting area: two long rotors enable a large number of knives.
- As the knives are positioned in a spiral shape, the power train is loaded evenly, which protects the drive unit.
- Paired knives prevent the material from bending and force it to be cut.
- The knife geometry prevents the particles from sticking to the knives. This generates real throughput as the particles don’t just circle with the rotor.
- The knife dimensions (length/width ratio) are optimized from a performance aspect.

- TYRANNOSAURUS 6600 is a high-power (220–320 kW) crusher, which enables a large number of crushing events.
- It also maintains a power reserve in normal operation, which is occasionally needed for managing heterogeneous feedstock.
