THE NEW FINE SHREDDER 1200A LAUNCHED IN IFAT MUNICH IN MAY 2024
BMH brought a new Fine Shredder, TYRANNOSAURUS 1200A, to the market in IFAT Munich in May.
The old model, 1200, remains in the product selection until further notice.
Maximise processing efficiency with the new 1200A series shredders
Effective screening is the key to achieving high processing efficiency. In 1200A, the screening area is 50% bigger than in the previous model. This enables easier access for the shredded material to pass through the screen and reduces the heat generated in the process.
The 1200A series shredders are typically delivered with the electric motor and the control cabinet mounted on an integrated support platform. This arrangement simplifies the shredder’s commissioning and operation. The control cabinet also makes it easy to connect the shredder to the rest of the plant.

TYRANNOSAURUS® 1200 | 1200A FineShredder for waste is an electrically driven, high-speed, single-rotor shredder.
It's specifically designed for industrial scale refining of pre-shredded and segregated solid waste that needs to be reduced to 20–70 mm for the purpose of increasing fuel combustibility or optimizing the particle size for further processing.

PUSHER
The hydraulically operated pusher efficiently presses the waste against the rotor knives. This keeps up continuous high shredding performance and enables processing lighter input materials.
For very light and fluffy feed materials, the pusher can be extended.
SCREENS
A wide range of available screens secures the shredder’s adaptability to various applications.
The carefully selected aperture size and shape also improve the shredder’s capacity in each application.
SUPPORT FRAME
The support frame enables installing the shredder easily on top of a discharge conveyor.

Protection against unshreddable objects
Typically, mixed waste streams contain unshreddable materials, such as rocks, scrap metals, and concrete objects. Once the pre-shredded and segregated waste reaches the secondary shredding stage, these objects should already be removed, yet sometimes individual particles remain.
To prevent damages to the shredder, the TYRANNOSAURUS 1200 | 1200A series Fine Shredder for waste is armed with Impact Protection™ function.
It is based on the counter-knives that are held in position hydraulically and allow an easy and fast removal of unshreddable materials.
The Impact Protection™ function both reduces the need for process stops and shortens the actual stops.
Optimal cutting with adjustable knives
Shredding is a wear-intensive function. Zero Gap® shredding means that the capacity, particle size and quality are preserved even with wearing of the knives.
This technology, patented by BMH Technology, maintains the cutting gap in zero, ensuring optimal cutting and lengthening the service interval.
Thanks to Zero Gap®, the TYRANNOSAURUS® 1200 | 1200A FineShredder can process even the thinnest waste materials, such as plastic films and foils. The shredder’s knives are hydraulically adjusted and each 800 mm section of the counter knives can be adjusted independently.
The clean-cut equals lower power consumption and longer knife lifetime, while maintaining high capacity. All this contributes to achieving the lowest possible production cost.
