We provide wear parts for all our shredding and crushing equipment. Typical parts we deliver are rotor knives, counter knives, forging and wear protection plates, knife holders and all related fastening parts. Non-original parts can break the entire machine, whereas original parts will maintain the capacity, availability and product quality. Regular maintenance and on-time changing of worn knives will keep up the performance of your equipment throughout its lifetime.

The extensive number of rotor knives results in a high number of cutting events. It also reduces the load per knife which increases knife lifetime and optimizes energy consumption. The knife material, size and shape have been carefully selected to produce high end product quality and to resist wear and fracturing. In fine shredding, the small knife size also has a positive impact on particle size and quality.

The spiral knife arrangement allocates power effectively to each cutting event. Combined with optimized knife size and rotation speed, this leads to superb cutting performance.

The knives are made of steels and their properties are improved in various ways such as heating treatments, which increases endurance and functionality against wear and impacts. For any special needs of our customers, we can offer more durable options and coated knives.

BMH has a patent for its rotor knife and knife support designs. The surfaces between a knife and a forging shield behind it comprise of precisely aligned grooves and raised edges securing a tight and sturdy connection between the parts. The solution is also great for maintenance, as cleaning and alignment needs are minimised.


Savings by turnability

When turning the rotor knives, the patented structure makes the knives’ alignment easy and fast with minimum cleaning need. In addition to the extended knife replacement interval, also the capacity and the quality of production remain on a higher level. The rotor knives should be turned when the edge is clearly worn. Turning can continue as long as the knife has unused edges. First, the knife is turned by 180°, then by 90° and then possibly again by 180°, if the edges of the knife are not too worn.


Easy access to service and replace the knives

All BMH shredders and crushers have big doors and hatches that ensure easy access to the rotor knives and counter-knives. Cleaning, servicing and replacing them takes only minimal amount of time.


The patented ZERO GAP® cutting technology

The ZeroGap® cutting technology maintains high capacity, desired particle size and quality even when the knives start to wear. Each section of the counter knives can be adjusted independently to maintain the cutting gap in minimum, ensuring optimal cutting even for the thinnest of waste materials. The long-term capacity is a result of maximizing hourly capacity and uptime hours.
