Bioflame solution delivered to Hanasaari, Helsinki, Finland

Helen Oy provides district heating for the city of Helsinki and power to the electricity grid. They have three big pulverised coal-fired power plants in Helsinki, one block in Salmisaari and two blocks in Hanasaari. BMH’s Bioflame® concept enables Helen to produce greener energy by co-combusting wood pellets in the Hanasaari Power plant.

The Bioflame® solution consists of two wood pellet receiving stations, fuel quality control system, storage systems and feeding conveyors to two different boiler blocks. The plants were delivered turnkey including fuel handling equipment and also electrification, automation and all necessary auxiliary systems.
