Biomass Fuel Handling

Biomass Fuel Handling Solution is customized to fit the requirements of Power Plants. Solutions by BMH Technology are made with long experience and deep know-how. Therefore they are highly reliable and at the same time representing latest technology with high level of automation. Biomass Fuel Handling solutions consist of receiving and biomass crushing, screening, metal separation, over-sized crushing, sample taking, storage, conveying and feeding systems, all delivered for the required scope and layout.

Biomass Fuel Handling Process Overview

See one example of our Biomass Fuel Handling solutions. We customize all solutions for each power plant to fit capacity, layout and other customer requirements. 

1. Receiving

No matter which way the fuel is transported – it is receivable. Receiving solutions of BMH Technology can receive material from trucks, trains and ships. The receiving stations are delivered to operate reliable, safely and dust-free.

Totally closed dust-free, first in - first out automatic storage with adjustable and reliable TYRANNOSAURUS® Screw Reclaimers.

The storage systems of BMH Technology are not only for storing, but also to homogenize the fuel. First the fuel is loaded evenly to the storage with fuel distributors.

5. Crushing

TYRANNOSAURUS® BioCrusher prepares the materials for the burning and quality control by reducing the particle size. Extremely robust rotors crush wood based material in a safe and economical way.

6. Screening

Screening is essential to ensure suitable fuel quality for the burning process. TYRANNOSAURUS® Bioscreen screens out large particles. Substitute to Biocreen is TYRANNOSAURUS® Star Screen, which has flexible stars to avoid clogging and jamming. The over size particles are being crushed by Tyrannosaurus Over Size Crusher and then put back to process. Fines can be separated from the fuel with Roll Screen or TYRANNOSAURUS® Fines Star Screen. Ferrous particles are separated with magnet.  The quality control equipment are installed in a compact screening house.

7. Automatic Sampling

Advanced Sampling Unit can be installed to the process to make sure that the suppliers are paid according to the real quality of the material or to examine the quality of the fuel for optimizing own processes. The Sample taking solution of BMH Technology is fully automated and EU-standardized to provide comprehensive samples from the material automatically. 

8. Conveying

The conveying systems of BMH Technology are designed to fit individual layout requirements of each site and plant. The conveyors are designed as safe and free of dusting to protect the transported material. 

9. Storing

The storage systems of BMH Technology, are not only for storing, but also to homogenize the fuel. First the fuel is unloaded evenly to the storage with fuel distributors to a silo or with travelling belt conveyor to A-frame storage. The reclaiming from the storage is done by heavy-duty TYRANNOSAURUS® Screw Reclaimers.
